THINGS TO COME THIS YEAR
Scent Detection Seminar
We are looking at running a scent detection seminar with one of Australia's best trainers currently working for Australian Quanantine.
The seminar will be run over two saturdays in May being 19th and 26th and will be two hours in duration on each saturday. Dogs attending will need at a minimum to be able to retrieve an object and return it to the handler. This promises to be a great seminar with a cost of $40 per person for a full 4hrs of training with a very skilled trainer. We have had requests from the genereal public to attend, the cost for non K-9iQ clients will be $80.
Maximum 20 people will be allowed to attend so if your are interested, please place your name at reception with Jane to reserve your spot.
Competition Agility Seminar
We are looking at running an introductory hands on seminar on Competition Agility Training for those that enjoy agility work but would like to do more than socialisation based agility. Numbers will be limited and dogs will need to be at least at Intermediate Level. The seminar will be run by an external trainer specialising in High Level Competition based Agility. What is K-9iQ Berwick?
K-9iQ Berwick is a group of highly qualified and dedicated dog trainers committed to providing affordable cutting edge dog training to the Berwick area and surrounds. With in excess of 50 years combined experience, we are all certified through the National Dog Trainers Federation and have varying sets of skills to address all the problems dog owners are likely to face in the course of owning their dog.
Where is K-9iQ Berwick?
K-9iQ Berwick is located within the grounds of Chisholm Tafe in Berwick, off Kangan Drive. We train every Saturday morning (with the exception of public holidays) starting at 10am for beginners and 11am for the more experienced dogs. We train rain, hail or shine.
What does K-9iQ Berwick offer?
K-9iQ Berwick offers General and Specific dog training to the General Public and Industry.
General Obedience covers realistic street smart obedience and socialisation training to bring out the best qualities in your dog. K-9iQ Dogs are balanced, sociable, confident and most of all - happy dogs. Part of the K-9iQ Berwick experience is agility training as part of the General Obedience training. Our agility setup is continuously updated to reflect client needs and to ensure that all our dogs develop skills and confidence in all aspects of life.

Puppy Training - We start training puppies from 8 weeks of age through to around 6 or 7 months depending on the size and maturity of your dog.
Basic Obedience Training - This is our entry level for dogs over the age of 7 months. It is intended for people that want basic control over their dog for day to day issues.
Intermediate Obedience Training - This level follows Basic Obedience and is geared to produce a good level of control over your dog on lead in many varied situations.
Advanced Obedience Training - This is where the training starts to get detailed and requires commitment from you as the dog's owner. Advanced Obedience Training is all off lead and to a very exacting degree. Dogs that work in this level are exciting to watch and have a great relationship with their owner.
Elite Obedience Training - This is as good as it gets anywhere! Dogs that are in this level have got all the skills needed to do anything, anywhere, anytime. K-9iQ Berwick Elite dogs are at the pinnacle of dogs in society and do it all under numerous distractions that make normal dogs lose concentration and run. If you enjoy action and love your dog, this is the level for you.
Industry Training - This is aimed at the working sector of people and dogs. If you are interested in Assistance Dog work, TV or Movie work or perhaps Scent Detection work, K-9iQ Berwick has the skilled trainers able to assist you and your dog to get the skills you need to work in the respective field.
We encourage children of all ages to participate in the training, however children under the age of 12 years old will require adult supervision at all times while at the centre.

What does K-9iQ Berwick Obedience Training cost?
Our views at K-9iQ Berwick are simple, we believe that good balanced dog training should be affordable especially given the recent econonic times. This is why we offer total flexibility in our training and costs. Currently we do not charge joining fees, nor do we charge membership fees of any kind. We charge $15 per dog each time you train with us - nothing hidden, nothing more to pay. Furthermore your are not expected to attend every week (although this is advisable), you simply attend when you can and pay each time you train. K-9iQ Berwick offers loyalty programmes to reward attendance and for those wanting further savings, we do offer 6 month and yearly advanced payment as an option.

What training methods does K-9iQ Berwick use?
Our methods reflect best practice in the industry and are geared to produce the best results possible. Our methods while being humane, work to get the best out of your dog and make your dog work for you. We encourage positive rewards as part of the training process and our focus is aimed at teaching you how to get the best out of that special bond between you and your dog. Afterall, nothing in life should be as important to your dog than you and your family.
How do we join K-9iQ Berwick?
Joining is simple! Just come down to our centre in Berwick on any Saturday (public holidays excluded), at 930am. Bring your dog's current vaccinations, your dog of course and a big smile and lets have some fun. When you arrive we will assess your dog to determine it's potential and after a quick check of your training equipment, we will have you starting your first session with us at K-9iQ Berwick.
